Video Inspections
Abbey Road does offer video inspections. If we only do a video inspection on a
unit that does not need to be cleaned for the camera to see, the price of the
camera run on a regular fireplace is the same price as sweeping a regular
fireplace. Why do we charge this? It actually takes longer to run the camera
and produce the report than the time it takes to sweep the unit. If we combine
a sweeping and the camera run, we will combine the 2 services at a discount.

Our newest camera does color photos, and you can watch the color screen on
the unit to follow what the camera is seeing. Ken  carries a cord that can be
used between the camera and your TV if the distance fits. That gives you a
much better view than his 4" x 6" screen. Color photos are taken by this
camera that will come with the report of what was found during the camera run.

We are talking with our other CSIA Certified Sweeps who want to use a simpler
unit. I haven't decided yet since it only runs in black and white. The camera has
a screen, but it does not take shots of what it sees. I may test one before we
get into the full swing of the 2011 silly season. If it will pass our standards, we
will put one on each of the trucks. This is the camera that may be used without
a charge. It will be able to tell if you have any missing mortar joints or cracked
liners, but it will not be recommended for Real Estate inspections, or insurance
claims that want photo documentation. We recommend the more sophisticated
unit for those inspections. The color photos are much better for a report that
cannot be disputed by another party.
