Website Comment Page
This page  is set  up so that  I can keep you  informed about  what  is happening
with the Abbey Road website.  I hope that you will help me to improve the site
by helping me out with your comments, and/or suggestions. I do realize that
most of you may not be interested in this. That is the reason for the separate
page.

Those who have known me from back in my "younger days" (which is the polite
way of saying, "yes, our bodies are aging, but we'll deal with that thought
tomorrow").  When I went to college, computer classes consisted of
programing with "punch cards". If you don't know what those are, you
probably were not around before Microsoft. If you do know about punch cards,
then you may also know why I shied away from  computers.

Times have changed, and I have slowly, very slowly, put at least one foot
into
the computer ocean. (I use the term ocean, instead of pond,  to illustrate how
much I still have to learn.  But since I can't swim, I really have no desire to go in
over my head.)

I am planning on making this site as informative as possible. I will have a page
of frequently asked questions. I am hoping that the Miami Valley will come to
recognize that
abbeyroadchimneysweeps.com  is striving to be the number
one place to go to get the latest and best information about your fireplaces,
wood stoves, furnace flues, dryer vents and more. I also realize that other
companies in our service area will most likely also be learning from our site. I
guess it will replace the phone calls from them, and the many "chance"
conversations that I have had with them over the years.  The other companies
will no longer have to talk to me directly to benefit from my years of experience
and continuing education courses. My husband has told me for years that I do
not have the cut throat attitude that is often needed to survive in business. He
says that I am just too willing to share my knowledge
.

Let me give you an example: When a stainless steel liner is installed through an
existing flawed clay tile liner that vents a wood burning unit, it is the
manufacturer's instructions that the liner be insulated. This is necessary to
retain the UL listing of the liner. I was sitting in my work truck at a shopping
center parking lot when another sweep pulled up. We started talking and
during the conversation I asked him why he had not been insulating his liners.
He had not been insulating for over eleven years. He looked at me, and this is
the total truth, said "AM I SUPPOSED TO?"  How could he not know? It is
WRITTEN IN EVERY INSTRUCTION  MANUAL THAT THE MANUFACTURER
SENDS WITH THE LINER. Since that conversation, he is now insulating his
liners. By that conversation, I have helped many homeowners, unbeknown to
them, to have a safer installation.

Getting back to your comments: I would deeply appreciate  your comments,
either verbally, or by computer contact. I obviously have not authored a
website before. I am trying to get as much of it going as I can before the fall
season arrives. I welcome both positive, and "constructive"  opinions.  As I
have stated before, I write this site in the same way that I would be talking to
you in person. Some readers may not feel that this is the format for a business
site. Yes, it is a business, but it is a family business.
